Premium Shopping Experience
App Design for KaDeWe
Role
As one of two Lead Designers on this pitch project, I co-owned the visual conceptualization. Together, we were responsible for designing the interface, building the high-fidelity clickdummy, and preparing the final on-site pitch presentation for the client.
Goal
The goal was to translate the premium, in-store shopping experience of a luxury department store into a mobile app. The challenge lay in merging high-end aesthetics, seamless usability, and a genuine feeling of luxury through sophisticated transitions and premium product presentations.

Process
We started with a deep dive into the premium segment to understand the emotional resonance of luxury brands and how to seamlessly bridge the physical and digital worlds. To achieve this, we actively integrated the brick-and-mortar department store into the app experience. Key features included prominently placed exclusive events, in-store product reservations, and a context-aware indoor map that automatically activates as soon as the user enters the store.
Challenges
We operated under a very tight deadline with limited initial briefing information. This required us to rapidly empathize with the target audience through assumptions and competitive analysis. To disrupt traditional e-commerce paradigms and differentiate our concept from standard retail apps, we consciously designed a prototype heavily focused on advanced micro-interactions and striking visual effects.

The Outcome
-
Interactive Prototype: Polished clickdummy with smooth transitions and a premium, high-touch feel.
-
Dynamic Home Tab: Features exclusive promotions to boost engagement.
-
Immersive PDP: Includes seamless in-store reservation options on the Product Detail Page.
