Fit for life

Forever Fit – Fitness program 50+

Role

As part of the core design team (collaborating closely across concept, content, and UI), I was primarily responsible for co-defining the UI for the workout flows and the step-by-step progression through levels.

Goal

The objective was to create an accessible, holistic health application designed to help older adults (50+) seamlessly transition into a healthy daily routine, regardless of their starting fitness level. The app aimed to provide clear progress tracking while combining physical workouts, nutritional guidance, and daily health tips into an easy-to-follow journey.

Users & Focus

The primary target audience was people aged 50+. Every single design decision was strictly evaluated against one core criterion: Is this understandable, accessible, and genuinely helpful for older users?

Process

  • Deep User Research: Working alongside a dedicated research team, we conducted extensive user testing sessions with potential target users.

  • End-to-End Validation: We systematically guided participants through early concepts, underlying logic, and UI designs to validate clarity, visual hierarchy, and motivational elements.

Challenges

  • Balancing Simplicity & Progression: Designing an interface that remains intuitive and non-intimidating for beginners, yet dynamic enough not to feel repetitive or boring as users progress.

  • Humanizing Science: Translating complex, evidence-based fitness and medical data into bite-sized, engaging UI components without losing scientific credibility.

  • Virtual Coaching: Creating a UI that made the virtual trainer feel genuinely supportive and personal rather than mechanical or distant.
